Due Friday, December 14th, 2012:  Read pages 229-231.  Write a dialog between William Penn and Tamanend.  Refer to the instructions on the handout.
Due Wednesday, December 12th, 2012:  Read page 229.  Write down as many facts as you can about William Penn.  Based on the evidence found in the text, make a list of characteristics (adjectives) that could be used to describe William Penn.
Due Tuesday, December 11th, 2012:  Complete revisions on your New England Narrative Essay.  Be sure to make ALL of the changes and suggestions that Mrs. Looney gave on your paper.  Rewrite your essay with all of the corrections on loose-leaf paper.

ALSO:  Read page 225.  Answer the question at the end of the page.  List three facts to answer the question.  AND:  Read page 226. Answer the following question...Why wasn't New Netherlands successful?  Answer both questions in your notebook and be sure to list at least three facts for each question.

Due Friday, November 30th, 2012:  Read pages 214-219.  Take notes in outline form.  Answer the following questions in your social studies notebook:
  • What were the different industries that made up New England's economy?
  • Describe the triangle trade routes.
Due Wednesday, November 28th, 2012:  Read pages 198-205.  Write a speech that could have been written by John Winthrop, Anne Hutchinson, Roger Williams or Metacomet.  Become the historical character that you choose.  Your audience could be at a town hall meeting, in a church, in your home, or around a bonfire with the Native American tribes.  Be sure to add facts along with opinions.  Be creative.  If there are quotes listed in the textbook, be sure to use the quotes (using quotation marks, of course).  Please write your final copy on looseleaf to be displayed in the hallway. Due Wednesday.
