Have you ever thought what it would be like
To live in the woods and run free with nothing to lose? Have you ever had the sudden urge to climb a barren tree? And become one with the wind and sky? Have you ever sat for a day? And watched the seasons change? Have you ever felt like running away? And find yourself running back Because you noticed a bond that couldn’t be broken? Have you ever found what was once lost? And find it was only misplaced? Or find yourself far away, And realize that you were at home in your heart. Written by 6th Grader Nora Thompson Share your poems about Halloween and Autumn.
House The dark night sky with children running around Asking for candy In silly and crazy clothing Going up and ringing The doorbell Giant bowls of candy Handing them out To all the little kids And then they Ran to a different House laughing and giggling Until they stopped at The abandoned house The long driveway Full of spiders and creepy noises Only one person dared to come up And he didn’t even make it He never showed up again By Braden Welcome, Dreamers!

Summer!!!!! Writing!!!!! Exciting!!!!!
Collecting words! One of my favorite things to do is write and collect words. Enjoying words of all shapes, sizes, and sounds will be something that we will focus on in our classroom this next school year. Refer to the suggestions found in the "Summer Writing" document. This document can be found on the Home Page of my website. Use this space to post your thoughts, favorite quotes, or a poem you have written. I invite you to invest some time getting lost in a book. My hope for you is that you will find a book that you love and read for hours. Tell the class about what you are reading. Be sure to write in complete sentences, in paragraph form. Be sure to use capital letters and check your spelling. Be sure that when you post your name that you use a capital letter at the beginning of your name. DO NOT WRITE YOUR LAST NAME.
